Raleigh Moped Driver Killed In Rear-End Collision
According to police, a Raleigh man suffered fatal personal injuries on April 25 when his moped was struck from behind on Capital Boulevard.
Police said 46-year-old Bruce Robert Herrmann was driving north on Capital Boulevard at around 2:15 p.m. when he slowed for traffic near Summer Boulevard. A 2007 Ford pickup truck hit Herrman's moped from behind, pushing it into the back of a 2002 Acura and across the entrance to a parking lot.
The pickup's driver, 43-year-old Nashville resident Gilbert Allen Moore, was cited for failure to reduce speed. Police said they would consult the Wake County District Attorney's Office to determine further charges, if any.
Neither Moore nor the driver of the Acura, 37-year-old Goldsboro resident Tavaris Jermaine Martin, was injured in the collision.
