Raleigh Man On Moped Killed In Hit-And-Run
Police have arrested a Dunn man for a hit-and-run collision in which a Raleigh restaurant employee suffered fatal personal injuries.
On April 28, Raleigh Police arrested 28-year-old Dunn resident Gavin Clifford Hawk after he allegedly struck the moped driven by Ian Kristopher Quick, and continued driving.
According to a report from the News & Observer, the accident took place on April 26 and Quick died shortly after.
Witnesses aided police by describing the suspect vehicle as a yellow SUV and notifying them that the driver failed to stop after striking the moped. The moped was said to have not been legal for the Interstate.
Raleigh Police said they received a tip from someone who saw news coverage of the collision that identified Hawk as the driver.
Dunn Police assisted the Raleigh P.D. in locating Hawk. He was arrested on charges of felony hit-and-run and taken to Wake County Jail.
