Pre-Suit Settlement Reached for Motorcyclist's Injuries
A motorcyclist from Charlotte NC, who was on his way to work, was struck by a driver who turned in front of him. The plaintiff, a 47-year-old male, was on his way to work on September 26, 2008 when the defendant made an improper left turn in front on him, resulting in a collision. The plaintiff was thrown off of his motorcycle.
The plaintiff complained that he sustained a partially torn aorta, arm fractures that required plates and also a fractured femur. The plaintiff alleged that he could not return to work because of his injuries. The defendant agreed to settle this case prior to a lawsuit being filed. The case was settled for $875,000 on July 14th, 2009.
