According to police, a Cumberland County school bus driver was at fault in a November 22 accident on Pamalee Drive in Fayetteville in which a motorcyclist sustained serious personal injuries.
Lt. Chris Davis, a spokesman for the Fayetteville Police Department, said that the bus driver, 70-year-old Julius Tucker, did not see the Honda motorcycle operated by 18-year-old Fayetteville resident Andrew Dejaynes before turning left onto Gardner Street.
Davis said Dejaynes was southbound on Pamalee and collided with the side of the turning bus around 3 p.m.
The force of the impact put a dent in the bus and warped the motorcycle’s frame.
Davis said Dejaynes received transport to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill and is listed in serious condition.
