Police Officer Traveling 90 MPH Prior To Fatal Wreck
According to police reports a North Carolina police cruiser collided with another vehicle in Charlotte while traveling more than 90 mph without lights or siren on.
The driver of the vehicle hit by the cruiser, Shatona Evette Robinson was killed.
Four others, including the officer were injured as a result of the collision.
State law requires police to obey speed limits unless their blue lights and siren are activated.
The speed limit where the accident occurred is 45 mph. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe said his department will investigate the accident.
