Police Car Overturns In Raleigh Wreck
On the afternoon of November 4, a Raleigh police car overturned during a crash, causing personal injuries and delaying traffic in the area on northbound Capital Boulevard near downtown Raleigh.
The patrol vehicle overturned after a wreck involving another vehicle near North McDowell and West Lane streets.
The cause of the crash was not immediately determined.
Police said the officer and the driver of the other vehicle are expected to be OK.
The driver of the other vehicle told WRAL news that the officer’s vehicle struck the bridge abutment and flipped up in the air over the other vehicle. The driver said the officer’s vehicle came back down and crashed into the abutment again. The driver said, “I thought she was killed. I am amazed that she walked out of there with just minor injuries.”
The wreck caused Capital to be closed for more than an hour.
