Pinebluff Teenager Dies After Fall From Pickup Truck

An 18-year-old died on October 11 of the personal injuries he suffered when he fell from the back of a truck his father was driving.

According to Pinebluff Police Sgt. Chris Sanderson, Brandon Leon Henderson was airlifted to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, where he later died.

The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on October 10 at West Baltimore Avenue and North Pecan Street in Pinebluff.

According to Sanderson, Henderson sustained an injury to the back of his head upon falling from the side of a 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck that his father, Leo Utley, was driving. Sanderson said he struck the back of his head on the asphalt.

Sanderson said that Henderson was the only passenger in the back of the truck. Another passenger was in the front of the vehicle.

According to Sanderson, as they were traveling down the road, Utley turned left, causing Henderson to fall out of the vehicle.
