Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Raleigh Accident
A woman sustained serious personal injuries on the morning of October 21 when she was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh.
The accident took place on the stretch of Falls of Neuse between Carlos Drive and North Bend Drive. According to a police report, traffic stopped on the road to allow 79-year-old Florence Jean McMahon to cross at a section where there was no crosswalk.
A vehicle driven by Raleigh resident Salieu Njie changed lanes in order to pass a vehicle that had slowed in order to allow McMahon to cross and struck her. Police say Njie didn’t see McMahon and was traveling within the posted speed limit when the accident occurred.
McMahon lived near the scene of the accident, which occurred shortly before 7 a.m.
