Pedestrian Killed By Alleged Drunk Driver In Raleigh
On September 11, a pedestrian suffered fatal personal injuries after being struck by a vehicle near Garner and Tryon roads in Raleigh.
At approximately 11 p.m., a man was crossing Garner Road on foot when a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Raleigh resident John Owen Bradley Jr., according to the police report. Bradley was southbound on Garner Road at the time.
The pedestrian was identified by police as 66-year-old Raleigh resident Edward Rayfield Simmons.
Police believe both Bradley and Simmons to have been intoxicated at the time of the collision and have charged Bradley with DWI.
