Pedestrian Injured In Asheville City Bus Crash That Ruptured Gas Line
Police in Asheville said that a pedestrian suffered personal injuries in a bus accident on April 17 that caused a portion of College Street to be shut down and a gas line to be ruptured.
A police report said that a city bus collided with the Mediterranean Restaurant, located at 57 College Street, around 10 a.m.
According to officers, a woman who suffered injuries in the accident received transport to Mission Hospital. Her identity and condition have not yet been released.
College Street had to be closed by officials from North Lexington Avenue to Haywood Street as Public Service Company of North Carolina crews repaired the gas line. They were later reopened.
Police say the cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
