Pedestrian Fatally Struck By SUV In Charlotte
A pedestrian who suffered fatal personal injuries when he was struck by a sport utility vehicle in west Charlotte on the morning of October 14 has been identified by police as Bessemer City resident Jason Kyle Mace.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to the accident, which took place on Queen City Drive, shortly after 7 a.m.
Reports say that Mace stepped into the road and was struck by a 2003 Ford Explorer. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV’s driver stopped at the scene after the collision and was interviewed by police.
As of October 15, no charges had been filed, but the investigation remained in progress.
