Passenger Killed In Wake Forest Crash
On September 5, a 23-year-old man died of the personal injuries he suffered when the vehicle he was a passenger in collided with another vehicle on Ligon Mill Road at Greenville Loop in Wake Forest, shortly after midnight.
According to officials, the victim, Matthew Lyle Actherman, was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle.
According to police, the vehicle Actherman was a passenger in crossed the center line, collided with another vehicle, and overturned.
Police charged the car’s driver, 21-year-old Christopher Phillip May, with driving under the influence and driving left of center. Officers say more charges may follow.
Whether or not May and the other driver were injured is not known.
