Parents of North Carolina Hazing Victim File Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Last year we brought you the story of a Lenoir-Rhyne University student, 19-year-old Harrison Kowiak, who died of a head injury after a fraternity hazing incident. Now his parents have officially filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the fraternity involved, Theta Chi Fraternity, the members of the fraternity, as well as the North Carolina University.

The North Carolina wrongful death lawsuit alleges that pledges were tackled by frat members as they ran across a dark field on a farm nearby the campus in Hickory, North Carolina. Although the parents have stated that they don't think any of the young men involved in the case should go to jail, they do think that their son's death from a brain hemorrhage was the direct result of negligence on the part of the school and the fraternity.  

The NC university did not comment on the pending lawsuit.
