Parents Considering Filing Suit Over Son's Dog Bite At Humane Society

The family of a boy who suffered personal injuries when he was bitten by a dog at the Hamilton County, Indiana Humane Society says that they are now considering taking legal action.

On the day of the incident, the 6-year-old boy wandered into an enclosed area where a dog was being kept in isolation. He opened a cage and the dog escaped, biting him several times.

The boy required nearly 40 stitches, including in his face.

According to shelter officials, the isolation room doors were unlocked. They believed signs and paper blocking visitors from seeing the dog were enough to keep visitors away. They also said that the dog had no history of aggressive behavior.
