
According to a military spokeswoman, one contractor died and two other people suffered personal injuries in a training accident at a North Carolina Army post.
In a June 22 statement, Fort Bragg spokeswoman Jackie Thomas said that a range control contractor died from a gunshot wound at Womack Army Medical Center. A second range control contractor was shot and received air transport to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A third person was identified as a soldier who is a student at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School. Thomas says that solider was grazed in the arm ad received transport to Womack to undergo treatment.
According to officials, the accident took place on Range 77 during a live fire drill using small arms.
Army investigators are on the scene to look into the accident.
