One Killed, Two Injured In High Point Collision

A crash in which one man died and his passenger suffered serious personal injuries is under investigation by police in High Point.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on February 22, officers responded to the intersection of N.C. Highway 69 and Mendenhall Oaks Parkway for a report of a serious traffic accident.

According to police, a 2009 Suburban driven by Sarah McClary was northbound on NC Highway 68 when she collided by a 1992 Toyota Corolla driven by Denny Lopez. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Dora Lopez, received transport to High Point Regional Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

McClary received treatment for minor injuries and was released from the hospital.
