One Dead, Two Injured In I-540 Crash
One person died and two others sustained personal injuries in an accident on Interstate 540 on the morning of December 9, also causing morning rush-hour traffic to become snarled.
Shortly before 8 a.m., 28-year-old Franklinton resident Krystal Jeanette Strother was westbound on I-540 shortly before 8 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle, crossed the median, and collided with two vehicles in the eastbound lanes.
Strother died and the drivers of two other vehicles sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police report, Strother’s Honda went underneath the median cables separating the two sides of the road.
