One Dead, Two Injured In Durham Accident

On the afternoon of June 1, a two-vehicle accident resulted in a woman from Durham suffering fatal personal injuries.

Police say the accident took place shortly before 3:30 p.m. near Mandy Court and Biscayne Road. A 2005 Mazda driven west by 18-year-old Durham resident Allyn Hubbard Hunt collided with a 2005 Ford Focus driven east by 63-year-old Durham resident Bettie Hall Boring. According to a preliminary investigation, Hunt’s vehicle crossed the center line, said police spokeswoman Kammie Michael.

Boring died at the scene. Hunt sustained minor injuries in the accident and his female passenger received transport to Duke University Hospital to undergo treatment for leg injuries.

As of June 1, no charges had been filed, but the accident remained under investigation.
