One Dead, Two Injured In Charlotte Collision
On the evening of April 26, an 18-year-old woman suffered fatal personal injuries in a north Charlotte accident.
According to police, Kiara Wright, a senior at North Mecklenburg High School, turned in front of a pickup truck shortly before 6 p.m. at the intersection of Browne Road and DeArmon Road. The front of the truck impacted the driver's side door on Wright's car.
Wright's brother, 21-year-old Cameron Lamont Brown, and 19-year-old Xavier Donte Joplin were also passengers in the vehicle and were injured in the collision.
Wright received transport to Carolinas Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Joplin and Brown also received transport to CMC. Joplin was released overnight and Brown remained in fair condition as of April 27.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was released from Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville after being treated.
