Fayetteville police said that a man from Fayetteville sustained fatal personal injuries in a three-vehicle crash on the afternoon of February 23 along Eastern Boulevard.
Police said 38-year-old Kenneth Jerome Gamble Jr. received transport to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after the accident, which took place at Eastern Boulevard and Old Wilmington Road shortly before 4:30 p.m., but was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to police, 54-year-old Fayetteville resident Stanley Britt was eastbound on Eastern Boulevard in a 1999 Ford pickup truck and collided with the 2011 Hyundai Gamble had been driving south on Old Wilmington Road.
The impact in the intersection resulted in the Hyundai into a third vehicle, driven by 67-year-old Spring Lake resident Rufus Hebert McLean, who had stopped on Old Wilmington Road while waiting to turn east onto Eastern Boulevard, police said.
Police said Gamble was the only person involved in the accident to receive hospital transport.
