One Dead In Fiery Cumberland County Crash

The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported that one person suffered fatal personal injuries after a small passenger vehicle collided with a bridge abutment and caught fire on Interstate 95 in Cumberland County on the morning of July 6.

 

After the collision, the vehicle came to rest under the Sunnyside School Road bridge, which is located between exits 52 and 49 on I-95. The engine was lying a distance of about 20 feet away from the vehicle. Both the engine and the vehicle were burnt beyond recognition.

 

Further information about the accident was not immediately released.
