One Dead, Five Injured In Crash In Burlington

On January 5, five people were sent to the hospital with personal injuries and one person was killed in a two-vehicle crash at N.C. 54 and Saxaphaw Road near the Alamance-Orange county line in Burlington, at approximately 4:15 p.m.

Police say 51-year-old Cedar Grove resident Steven Kimbrough was driving a 1995 Ford station wagon when he collided with the driver’s side door of a 2004 Toyota SUV driven by 32-year-old Kimberly Money.

Kimbrough was pronounced dead at the scene. Money and her passengers, 12-year-old Maeleia Money and 4-year-old Jacob Murray received ambulance transport to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Two passengers in Kimbrough’s vehicle, 14-year-old Dakota Kimbrough and 13-year-old Savannah Kimbrough, also were taken to UNC Hospitals.

As of January 8, Money and the four children remained in the hospital, but were listed in stable condition, according to officials.
