North Carolina Woman Dies In Car Wreck While Rushing To Hospital

A tragic car accident in Wilmington, North Carolina, left one woman dead and her grandson badly injured. According to NC Police, the woman was rushing her one-year-old to the hospital when she ran a red light and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Emergency responders to the Wilmington car crash say that the woman, who has not yet been identified, was speeding her grandchild to a nearby hospital after the baby was bit in the face by an aggressive pit bull. While the grandmother honked as she flew through a stop light on the way to the emergency room, a van with the right of way in the intersection sideswiped the car and killed the woman. The boy, who was bleeding profusely from his face after the dog attack, was also injured in the crash. After being struck by the van, the car slammed into a utility pole.

The three people riding in the van that was involved in the vehicle accident suffered minor injuries. The boy’s current medical condition is not known.
