Nine Charlotte High School Students Injured In I-95 Bus Crash

Three buses carrying North Carolina high school students as well as two other cars were involved in a bus crash on I-95 on Sunday, April 25.

State Police say that the students were from Providence High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. The students were on their way back from a color guard competition in another state at the time of the bus accident. The accident took place when one of the buses struck a car in front of it, which in turn struck the bus in front of it.

One bus driver was airlifted from the NC accident scene while three students were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Six other students were treated on the scene for minor injuries by emergency responders. All in all, ten people were injured.

The other students were transferred home on different buses. Interstate 95 was the scene of a traffic jam for several hours after the bus crash.
