Neck, Back, And Head Injuries Claimed In Accident

Yvette Johnson has filed a personal injury suit against Lisa R. Schaffer, alleging that she sustained neck, back, and head injuries in a collision.

According to the suit she filed in Illinois’ Madison County Circuit Court on February 12, Johnson was driving on the eastbound off-ramp of I-55/70 on December 24 when Schaffer, in the vehicle behind hers, failed to stop in time and collided with the rear of Johnson’s vehicle.

Johnson claims that the crash caused her to become sick, sore, lame, disordered, and disabled, suffer injuries to the soft tissues of the cervical, shoulder, and lumbar area, incur medical expenses, and experience disability, pain, suffering, and lost wages.

The suit alleges negligence on the part of Schaffer for failure to maintain a proper lookout, driving in a manner that caused her to collide with Johnson’s vehicle, failure to properly apply her vehicle’s brakes, driving at an excessive speed, and following too closely.

Johnson seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
