NCHP Identifies Man Killed In Crash Near Benson
A man who suffered fatal personal injuries in a May 8 crash on Interstate 40 near Benson has been identified by the North Carolina Highway Patrol as 43-year-old Jacksonville resident Emanuel Santiago.
The NCHP says that Santiago was traveling at an estimated rate of speed of 90 mph in a 1997 Dodge pickup truck when the vehicle ran off the road to the left, slid across the highway, collided with a highway sign, and overturned.
The accident took place shortly after 9 p.m. approximately six miles east of Benson.
