N.C. Man Dies In Va. Crash
Police said a North Carolina man suffered fatal personal injuries after being ejected from his vehicle and pinned underneath in a crash in Virginia Beach on April 17.
Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene of the crash at about 2:30 a.m. When they arrived, they located 27-year-old Knotts Island resident Joseph Edwin Edge suffering from severe life-threatening injuries. He received transport to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 4 a.m.
An investigation revealed that Edge was southbound in a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer when his vehicle veered off the road to the right. He overcorrected to the left and back to the right before his vehicle overturned several times, ejecting him, according to public information officer Adam Bernstein.
The crash remains under investigation.
