N.C. 8-Year-Old Killed In S.C. Boat Accident
According to authorities, an 8-year-old North Carolina boy suffered fatal personal injuries in a boating accident on a lake in South Carolina.
Multiple media outlets were told by investigators that Charlotte resident Tanner Blake Goshen was killed on Lake Wylie on June 26 after he came into contact with the propellers on his family’s boat.
According to Department of Natural Resources Lt. Robert McCullough, wildlife officers are waiting to interview the boy’s family to obtain further details.
The state of South Carolina has had a reported total of at least 18 fatal boating accidents so far in 2010, in comparison to 11 in all of 2009.
McCullough said that DNR has not yet determined a reason for the increase in fatalities.
