Multiple Injuries In Two-Car Collision Near Lenoir-Wayne Border

A two-car collision on N.C. 903 near the border of Lenoir County and Wayne County had multiple paramedics, both vehicle and helicopter units, respond to the scene because of reports of major personal injuries.

According to 1st Sgt. Charles Johnston of the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. when a vehicle traveling on Davis Hardy Road ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle that was traveling on N.C. 903.

Johnston did not make any of the names of anyone involved available, but said that both vehicles had more than one Hispanic person inside.

Reports from the scene indicate that five people suffered injuries in the crash, including one for major head trauma from a possible skull fracture. At least two EastCare helicopters responded to the scene.
