A man from Gibson suffered fatal personal injuries on the morning of March 28 when the motorcycle he was driving ran off Marston Road and collided with a tree, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

Shortly before 5 a.m., 38-year-old Randall Lanard Martin was northbound on a 2008 Suzuki at an estimated speed of 90 mph when he entered a curve, according to a spokeswoman.

The spokeswoman said Martin failed to make the curve, ran off the road, and collided with a tree, causing him to be ejected from the bike upon impact.

The spokeswoman said that the motorcycle, valued at $15,000, was declared a total loss.

The accident was investigated by Trooper J.L. Martin.
