Mother Charged In Daughter's Accidental Shooting
According to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, a woman from Littleton is facing charges for the personal injuries her 3-year-old daughter suffered in an accidental shooting in August.
On September 4, police charged 37-year-old Kisha B. Harper with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. She turned herself in to authorities and her bond was set at $5,000.
On August 23, Harper’s daughter was shot in the abdomen by a single bullet in the family’s home. She remains in critical condition.
According to investigators, at the time of the incident, the girl was at home with both of her parents. However, investigators would not specify how the incident took place.
Authorities have not released the name of the girl or the name of the hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
