Mother And Daughter Killed In Holly Springs Crash

A mother and daughter suffered fatal personal injuries on January 17 when their car crossed the center line on N.C. 55 in Holly Springs and collided with another car.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, 30-year-old Raleigh resident Elly Marian Moller was northbound in a Honda Civic shortly after 7 p.m. when she ran off the road to the right near the Sunset Lake Road intersection. She then overcorrected and crossed the center line. The Honda collided with an oncoming Jeep Cherokee, went off the road to the left, and ended up in a ditch.

Moller’s mother, 52-year-old Apex resident Carmen Moller, was a passenger in the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Elly Moller received transport to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Jeep did not sustain any serious injuries. The NCHP said the Mollers were both wearing their seat belts.
