Moore County Man Killed In Crash
The North Carolina Highway Patrol said that a man from Moore County suffered fatal personal injuries on December 16 when his SUV ran off the road and collided with a tree.
According to the NCHP, 63-year-old Robbins resident James Melvin Oxendine died in a single-vehicle accident near High Falls that was reported shortly after 5 p.m.
A spokeswoman for the Highway Patrol said that Oxendine was the lone occupant of the vehicle and had been westbound on George P. Road when the SUV ran off the road to the right an went into the brush.
Cypress Pointe Fire and Rescue Safety Officer Frank Staples said that the front, roof, and passenger side of the SUV had been peeled back from the force of the impact.
The accident remains under investigation.
