Man Struck, Killed In Johnston County Crash
A man from Washington D.C. died of the personal injuries he suffered in a crash on the evening of January 9 while driving through a small community in Johnston County on U.S. 70.
According to Wilson’s Mills Police Chief R.H. Aycock, 42-year-old Herbert Wilson Jr. ran off the road and his vehicle collided with a guard rail shortly after 7:34 p.m.
Aycock said that Wilson was attempting to call AAA when he stumbled onto the roadway and was hit by a passing vehicle.
Aycock said the accident remained under investigation and police had not yet determined if charges would be filed.
