Man Shocked When Wife Reverses Wires On Power Tools

In a bit of an unusual case, court papers say that a woman from Olympia, Washington caused her husband, whom she was angry at for leaving her, caused him personal injuries by tampering with his power tools in order for him to receive a powerful electric shock.

On January 8, 33-year-old Carolyn Paulsen-Riat was booked into Thurston County Jail for charges of third-degree assault, domestic violence, and second-degree malicious mischief. She was released on her own recognizance by a judge.

According to a report in The Olympian, the man was using a 220-volt table saw on January 1, when he received the shock, knocking him to the ground.

Deputies say Paulsen-Riat told them she reversed the wires on the tools because she was angry that he was leaving.
