Man Killed In High-Speed Fayetteville Crash
The North Carolina Highway Patrol says a man suffered fatal personal injuries on the morning of August 12 when the vehicle he was driving ran off Maxwell Road in Fayetteville, struck a tree, and broken into three pieces.
A spokesman said the man’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
According to the report filed by Trooper W.C. Townsend, the accident occurred around 1:15 a.m. near Wade-Stedman Road. At the time, the man was northbound in an Acura at an approximate speed of 110 mph.
The report says the vehicle ran off the road to the right and the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross back over the road and run off the road to the left. It then hit a small ditch and overturned before the collision with the tree.
