Man Killed In Fire Caused By Gas Explosion
A gas explosion caused a raging fire that resulted in a man suffering fatal personal injuries outside a North Raleigh split-level house on September 15.
The man’s body was discovered under a brick wall outside the house by firefighters. The man’s name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. According to Assistant Fire Chief Rusty Styons, a woman and two children who reside at the house were found safe.
Raleigh Fire Captain Tim Duke said that the fire started shortly before 3 p.m. near a large crawlspace where there was a workshop. The blaze caused Millbrook Road to be closed at Falls of Neuse Road.
