Man Killed In Collision With Tractor-Trailer Near Stokesdale
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, one man suffered fatal personal injuries after being struck by a tractor-trailer.
Troopers say the unidentified man ran a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 68 and Sylvania Road, just north of Stokesdale. A tractor-trailer that was southbound on Highway 68 could not stop in time and collided with the car, pushing it through nearby fences, mailboxes, and trees.
The driver of the car was killed upon impact. Troopers could not identify him because he had no license and the vehicle registration and tags were not up to date.
Investigators say they are uncertain if alcohol was a factor, but they have determined that weather conditions were not a factor.
