Man Injured In Burlington Hit-And-Run

A hit-and-run crash in Burlington in which a man suffered personal injuries on February 19 is under investigation by Burlington Police. The crash occurred shortly before 8:15 p.m. on E. Maple Avenue.

According to police, they found the victim, Ronald Jones, lying in the road. A witness who said they did not see the crash, but noticed the injured man in the road remained at the scene with Jones until help arrived.

Jones received transport to UNC-Chapel Hill Hospital.

Police initially had no information about the vehicle that hit Jones, but later located the suspected vehicle behind a business in the Burlington Outlet Village. The driver was identified as 40-year-old Graham resident Gregory Page Thomasson.

Thomasson turned himself in on the following morning. He was charged with felony hit and run and driving on a revoked license.
