Man Files Suit Against YMCA For Injuries During Daughter's Roller Skating Party
A man has filed suit against a YMCA, alleging that he sustained personal injuries at the facility’s roller skating rink.
On February 17, Peter Kim, an internist who practices medicine in Highland, Illinois, filed suit in Illinois’ Madison County Circuit Court against the Young Men’s Christian Association of Edwardsville.
According to the suit, in May 2010, Kim was hosting a roller-skating party for his daughter at the YMCA. While he was skating around the rink wearing a pair of skates provided by the YMCA, he says one of them locked up, causing him to fall.
The suit alleges negligence on the part of YMCA for providing Kim with allegedly defective skates.
Kim seeks damages of no less than $50,000 for medical expenses, lost income, and court costs.
