Man Files Suit Against Driver That Rear-Ended Him And His Employer

A man from Nederland, Texas has filed a personal injury suit against a driver he alleges rear-ended him in Beaumont, Texas and his employer.

According to Jack Sedtal, on May 8, 2008, his vehicle was struck from behind by the speeding vehicle of Richard Phelps. The suit says Phelps was working for co-defendant Norman Highway Constructors at the time of the crash.

Sedtal alleges that the incident has caused him to suffer injuries to his neck, spine, and shoulders, experience physical and mental strain, pain, suffering and anguish, and lose wages. He also claims to have incurred medical expenses.

The suit alleges negligence on the part of Phelps for failure to maintain a proper lookout, driving too fast, failure to drive safely, and failure to brake in time to avoid a collision.

Sedtal seeks unspecified damages.
