Illinois resident Rajendra Patel has filed a personal injury suit alleging that he suffered personal injuries in a collision with Chelsea Gassett.
In the suit he filed in Illinois’ Madison County Circuit Court on December 26, Patel claims that while he was westbound on Niedringhaus Avenue on January 4, 2007, Gassett was driving southeast on 21st Street, which intersects with Niedringhaus, and collided with Patel.
According to the suit, Gassett ran a stop sign and struck Patel, who had no traffic control device.
Patel claims that the accident has caused him to incur medical expenses and sustain disability, pain and suffering, loss of normal life, and loss of income.
The suit alleges negligence on the part of Gassett for failure to yield at an intersection and failure to maintain a lookout. Patel seeks damages in excess of $50,000.
