Man Claims Collision Caused Permanent Facial Scarring

A man has filed a personal injury suit, alleging that he suffered permanent scarring to his face after another man struck the side of his vehicle, causing him to collide with a tree.

According to the suit filed in Illinois’ St. Clair County Circuit Court on March 18 by Michael J. Marler, Brian A. Kessler was responsible for the April 13, 2007 crash.

According to Marler, he was attempting to turn left from his driveway when he was sideswiped by the 1987 pickup truck driven by Kessler.

Marler claims that in addition to the facial scars, he experienced property damage, stomach and arm bruising, orthopedic, neurological, and muscular injuries, and lost income. He also claims he incurred medical costs.

The suit alleges negligence on the part of Kessler for failure to maintain proper control of his vehicle, failure to maintain a proper lookout, failure to stop or take evasive maneuvers to avoid a collision, and failure to yield right-of-way.

Marler seeks unspecified damages.
