Man Charged With Murder In Death Of Fayetteville Resident
On August 16, police charged a man from Fayetteville with murder in connection to a crash in which a motorcyclist suffered fatal personal injuries.
Police charged 22-year-old Jason Gregory Taft with second-degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Fayetteville Resident Felipe Ramirez.
According to investigators, at around 2 a.m. on August 14, Taft was driving east on Country Club Drive when he lost control of the pickup truck he was driving near the intersection with Murchison Road. The truck crossed the center line and struck Ramirez’ motorcycle head-on. Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police cited excessive speed and alcohol as factors in the crash.
