Police have officially charged a man they say is responsible for a 2009 accident in which a woman and her infant suffered fatal personal injuries in Huntersville.
The accident in question took place on Wynfield Creek Parkway on October 26.
The driver of the vehicle that crashed, Seth Smith, sustained critical injuries and received air transport to Carolinas Medical Center. The front seat passenger, Courtney Puckett, and her child were killed in the crash.
Police presented the results of their investigation to the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office on February 24.
The Huntersville Police Department said that Smith was driving on a revoked license and was exceeding the speed limit.
Smith has been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter and is currently being held at Mecklenburg County Jail.
