
A man from Moncure has been charged with running a red light in connection to a June 12 accident in which a Harnett County teenager suffered serious personal injuries.
Police charged 33-year-old Donald Ray Thomas Jr. in connection to the accident that injured 18-year-od Cameron resident Henrietta Humes.
North Carolina state troopers say that Humes suffered a broken pelvis and broken legs. Her injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. She received transport to Cape Fear in Wilmington before being transferred to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
According to troopers, Thomas was driving a 2008 Dodge pickup truck that collided with a 2010 Hyundai passenger car in which Humes was a passenger at the intersection of South Barbecue Church Road and N.C. Highway 27 in Lillington.
The driver of the Hyundai, 18-year-old Cameron resident Shaina Kaye Merritt, received treatment at Womack Army Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
Thomas and his passenger, Heather Begroat, both underwent treatment for minor injuries at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
