Man Charged After Striking Pedestrian
According to Chapel Hill police, a 40-year-old man was drunk when he hit a pedestrian on West Franklin Street.
The driver, Cole A. Buchman, left the scene and fled from police on Wednesday night.
Officers were able to block him in. Buchman refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
Buchman was charged with DWI, felony hit and run, driving with a revoked license, failing to stop from an accident and fleeing to elude an arrest.
The victim, whose name was not released, was crossing the street near a McDonald’s restaurant. He was transported to UNC Hospital.
