Man Attacked By Pit Bulls While Walking His Dog

A man sustained personal injuries after being attacked by a pair of pit bulls, which have since been euthanized, as he was walking his own dog through a neighborhood in Salt Lake City, Utah.

According to Zach Todd of the Salt Lake County Animal Services, the man’s wounds were severe. He said the man suffered bites, puncture wounds, and torn flesh. Animal services said that they were unaware if the dogs initially went after the man or his dog.

The dog’s owner, Roland Lee, cooperated with animal control officials and turned the dogs over to be euthanized.

“If they attack someone and they taste blood, then I believe they’ve gone wild,” he said.

Cheri Passey, a neighbor of Lee, said that the dogs weren’t “people-friendly” and would bite at their fence as someone walked by.

The victim received transport to a hospital and received stitches on his arms.

Lee received a citation for the attack and expressed remorse for his dogs’ actions.
