A man from Charleston, West Virginia is facing a charge of domestic battery for the personal injuries his girlfriend allegedly suffered when he held her down and allowed his dog to bite her.

On November 3, an arrest warrant was issued for 20-year-old Andre George Edwards in connection to the incident.

Artia Leftwich, Edwards’ live-in girlfriend, told police that he had held her down on the ground near their apartment, covered her mouth, and allowed his dog to bite her on the leg, according to the complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court.

According to the complaint, officers saw a fresh red mark near Leftwich’s lower lip and observed bite marks and broken skin on her leg.
