Mall Pays Damages for Inadequate Security

A 56 year old woman was abducted from a shopping mall. She was raped and robbed by the attacker. The woman claimed damages for post-traumatic syndrome rape and robbery and was awarded $1,200,000.00 in July 2009. The woman was taken from the shopping center by knifepoint, was raped and robbed, and then she was taken back to the shopping center by the attacker. She alleged that there was insufficient security in the mall and after her attack, more occurred. She is still seeking counseling due to this situation.
